Ana Estela Laguna Martinez

Ana plays Scarleth, the older sister of Carlos. She lives with her mother and her boyfriend Dudley, who plays her lover in the movie. He financially supports the family.

Director’s commentary:
Ana Estela made it to the last round of the casting confidently and quickly. I only got to know a few personal details about her. She was just there and played herself. I decided not to ask her questions, but to provide her the space she needed. The part as Carlos' sister is tailor-made for her.

Ana spielt Scarleth, Carlos' ältere Schwester. Sie lebt mit ihrer Mutter und ihrem Freund Dudley, der im Film ihren Lover spielt, zusammen. Er unterstützt die Familie finanzell.

Regiekommentar:
Ana war schnell und sicher in die letzte Castingrunde gekommen. Ich habe wenig Persönliches von ihr erfahren. Sie war einfach da und gab sich selbst. Ich beschloss, nicht weiter nachzufragen, sondern ihr den Platz zu geben, den sie benötigte. Die Rolle der Schwester von Carlos ist ihr auf den Leib geschrieben.

Silvio René González Gomez

Silvio is married and lives in a small house in León. He likes playing theatre, leads several Gigantona groups and makes the dolls for the performances and miniature dolls for sale. He is a very light-hearted person, who really loves his country and its culture in spite of its many difficulties.

Director’s commentary:
I became acquainted with Silvio also through the research tape of my assistant director Carlos Luis Mejia. Carlos visited him in his studio and was immediately crazy about him. He is a peculiar and fascinating man, who does peculiar and fascinating things. I invited him to take part in the casting. Silvio talked more than he performed. He talked about the Gigantona, traditions, theatre and the rest of the world. If you have just learned Spanish in a crash course, this is not easy to understand.

Silvio ist verheiratet und wohnt in einem kleinen Haus in León. Er spielt gern Theater, leitet mehrere Gigantonagruppen und bastelt die Puppen für die Vorführungen und in Miniatur zum Verkauf. Er ist ein sehr fröhlicher Mensch, der sein Land und dessen Kultur trotz der vielen Schwierigkeiten sehr liebt.

Auch Silvio lernte ich über das Rechercheband meines Regieassistenten Carlos Luis Mejia kennen. Carlos hatte ihn in seiner Werkstatt besucht und schwärmte sofort von ihm. Ein sehr seltsamer und faszinierender Mann, der seltsame und faszinierende Dinge tut. Ich lud ihn zum Casting ein. Silvio hat mehr erzählt als gespielt. Er erzählte von der Gigantona,Traditionen, Theater und dem Rest der Welt. Wenn man gerade Spanisch im Sturzflug gelernt hat, ist das nicht ganz einfach zu verdauen.
